Planning Engineer For Head Office

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules for bridge construction projects. The role requires effective planning, coordination, and collaboration with different teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and resources are efficiently managed. The engineer will be stationed at the head office but will frequently coordinate with on-site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Scheduling:

• Develop detailed project schedules .
• Establish and maintain baseline schedules, monitor progress, and update schedules as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the schedule aligns with project milestones.

Resource Planning:

• Identify and allocate necessary resources (manpower, materials, equipment) for each phase of the project.
• Monitor resource usage to prevent overallocation and ensure timely availability of resources.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
• Track project expenses and compare them with budgets to identify any variances.
• Suggest cost-effective solutions and strategies to minimize project costs without compromising quality.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Continuously assess project schedules for risks and communicate any issues to the project team.
• Prepare contingency plans to address unforeseen delays or changes.

Coordination & Communication:

• Act as a liaison between the head office and construction sites to ensure smooth communication.
• Prepare and present project status reports, progress charts, and timelines for internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project status, issues, and solutions.

Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, resource plans, risk assessments, and cost reports.
• Ensure proper documentation of project changes and variations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer, preferably in bridge construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
