PRIMARY HEAD

The Primary Head is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, academic programs, and welfare of students in a primary school. This includes managing the teaching staff, ensuring compliance with educational standards, promoting student development, and fostering strong relationships with parents, the school community, and external stakeholders. The Primary Head plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational environment for young children and guiding the school's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management:

  • Lead the primary school community, ensuring that it operates in alignment with the school?s mission, values, and educational objectives.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that encourages collaboration, respect, and high standards.
  • Ensure that school policies, regulations, and procedures are consistently followed by all staff and students.

• Academic Oversight:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the primary school curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Ensure that the curriculum meets national or regional educational standards while addressing the developmental needs of young learners.
  • Work with teachers to implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and academic performance, using data to inform decisions and interventions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching practices through regular feedback and professional development.

• Student Welfare & Development:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, creating a supportive environment for learning and personal growth.
  • Oversee the implementation of behavioral and discipline policies, working to resolve issues effectively and fairly.
  • Promote emotional, social, and psychological development through school-wide programs, including counseling and extracurricular activities.
  • Encourage the development of strong values such as respect, responsibility, and empathy among students.

• Parent & Community Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong communication with parents, guardians, and caregivers, ensuring they are informed and involved in their children's education.
  • Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and other initiatives to engage the school community.
  • Work closely with external partners, including local authorities, educational organizations, and community groups, to support the school?s objectives.
