Objective:

Reporting to the regional sales manager, the Area Sales Manager (ASM) will lead, develop and manage sales activities to profitably grow bookings in line with annual growth plans for the new unit and aftermarket business in a designated geographic area. The ASM will be responsible for implementing strategies to expand market share and deepen relationships, resulting in business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement growth strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual bookings targets for the area
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of channel partners providing coaching, training and performance evaluations
  • Manage bookings forecasting, monitor performance, analyze trends and problem solve when needed to ensure growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners
  • Identify new opportunities through prospecting, networking and utilizing industry databases to grow and sustain the area sales pipeline
  • Close open opportunities utilizing our selling processes and maintain CRM records
  • Address customer and channel inquiries, resolve issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Stay informed of market conditions, trends and competitive landscape and offer feedback to key stakeholders to inform strategy
  • Work with channel partners to identify current or underserved accounts and develop selling strategies to optimize customer penetration including direct interaction with end users
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Management and Application Engineering to target and position informed solutions and drive awareness
  • Works with internal organization to ensure that channel partners have the skills & knowledge needed to sell our products and services effectively
  • Responsible for safety, ethics and other legal compliance requirements in alignment with

Sundyne policy.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven record of exceeding sales targets with the ability to close opportunities and utilize the sales process
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization (internal/external)
  • Experience in selling rotating equipment
  • Knowledge of pump & compressor market, and rotating equipment products
  • Channel/Distributor/EPC/Licensor experience
  • Experienced commercial negotiator
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical and/or industrial markets in a sales or service related position
  • Presentation and customer relationship building skills
  • Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel frequently within the designated area

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in executing sales strategies
  • Analytical skill set, strong presentation skills, ability to interact with any level of an organization
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate, multi-task and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
