Database Administrator

Role & responsibilities

• Provide support for, Oracle & SQL
• Facilitate problem resolution by coordinating between the DBA team, affected application teams, other technology teams and vendor support
• Adhere to change control procedures
• Monitoring, backups, troubleshooting, security, user maintenance, reporting, migrations, upgrades, data copying, etc
• Architect database solutions to optimally meet business needs
• Work with application teams on database design and database issues
  Shell scripting, stored procs, SQL, query tuning, etc
• Execute company initiatives in the database space
• Implement schema changes at direction of AppDev
• Disaster recovery and database restoration
• Recovery from backups
• Automation of routine tasks

Experience & Qualification:

• BTech, BE, Computer science graduates with over 8 years of relevant experience in Database Administration role.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect is desirable
• Experience with PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Atlas
• Understanding of database system concepts ACID properties, normal forms, backup and recovery mechanisms, DDL vs DML, transaction logging, log shipping, etc
• Basic understanding of cloud environments, preferably Azure and AWS
• Data warehouse experience
