1. JOB PURPOSE
Provide technical support for multiple Apraava Energy projects like wind, solar PV, Transmission & Distribution
(T&D) and other associated projects in area of Civil and foundation and structural engineering

Site Assessment and Selection: Conduct feasibility studies and
site assessments to determine the suitability of locations for solar
plant construction.
Analyze topography, soil conditions, and other geological factors
that might impact the design and construction.

Preparing the survey of quantities according to the site condition
and provide inputs for land development and civil foundation
suggest cost control strategies such as reduction in earthwork
construction, foundation, ground improvement works.
Finalizing Civil engineering specifications requirements in
reference to RFP
/tender document and Prepare the OTR (Owners technical
requirement)
Design foundations, support structures, access roads, drainage

systems, and other civil infrastructure required for the greenfield
renewable and transmission projects.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety
or quality.
Review and approve the design basis reports, structural and Civil
engineering drawing submitted by engineering consultant and
provide inputs for value engineeringandoptimization of drawings
ensuring the applicable IS standards and regulations.
Prepare and Implement quality control measures and QAP and
FQAP checks to ensure that civil infrastructure meets design
standards and specifications.

Coordination and Collaboration during
design and execution of the projects

Support for site survey, Geotechnical investigation, topography,
and hydrology study.
Review, respond and comment on engineering reports and
studies for civil and structural design elements on all projects.
Coordinate with 3rd party engineer and project team for
resolution of field issue. and non-conformance related to civil
matters arises during the execution phase of the projects,
Continue to learn and remain updated on design guidelines,
standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Apraava
Energy Ltd. policies and procedures.
Engage in achieving self-reliance on civil engineering in Solar
PV Systems / Wind Power / Substation / Transmission line
foundation and structure.
Facilitate sharing of new developments in Technology in
civil engineering with the wider audience.

6. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Functional Skills
•
Understanding of application of various standards and regulations for Civil Design & Engineering perspective
including but not limited to IS 456, IS 2062, IS 875, IS-2911, IS 801, IS 802 etc.
•

Sound understanding of civil engineering principles, geotechnical engineering, and construction management.
Experience with solar plant projects or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using relevant software AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro for design, analysis.
Good hand of experience using different mapping tool/system - Google earth, GPS, Survey, DGPS and drone
survey.

Review Vendor engineering documents with respect to Civil & Structural design.
Perform design of both steel and concrete structures.
Prepare master document list and design basis reports for civil activities.
Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements /DBR.
Prepare BOQs as per drawings and suggest economic design practices.
Design of RCC road section, Storm water Drainage, water sump & Culverts.
Design of Tower Foundation of Lighting cum Lightening Mast.
Grading Layout of Pooling Substation / Land Development drawing.
Design of lattice tower structures, burnt oil tank /DG Set, Axillary Transformer Foundation, Oil sump pits,
boundary walls, isolator, CVT, CT, PT etc.
Substation & Transmission Line Design
•
•
Perform the analysis & design of structural & civil elements like GIS building / control room buildings,
transformer foundations, outdoor equipment foundations, security building, staff quarters, roads, and drainage.
Design of transmission towers, connections, and foundations up to 765kV as per Indian standards by
considering appropriate loads like wind, seismic, sag tension, etc.
•

Develop drawings of single and multi-circuit transmission towers and foundations in different soil strata.
Review rigging charts and tower test proto and type test reports.
Solar and Wind Design
•
•
Design of module mounting structures (MMS) with thorough knowledge of latest practices.
Review grading quantities and topography reports and suggest the appropriate measures to minimize land
development expenditure.
•

•
Review the design of MCR, ICR, string combiner box structures and their foundations.
Review WTG foundation drawings and ensure applicability to project site locations.
Determine construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs.

Overall experience: 5 to 10 years
