Applied Materials - DevOps Engineer - CI/CD Pipeline (4-8 yrs)

AIx (Actionable Insight Accelerator) is an ML/AI Data Analytics platform that enables development and deployment of new chip technologies. AIx allows engineers to innovate and optimize semiconductor processes in real-time, and control thousands of variables to improve semiconductor performance, power, area-cost and time to market (PPACt).

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software across multiple environments.

- Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve software release cycles and optimize development processes.

- Ensure the automation of infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and maintenance in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Monitor and optimize the performance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure high availability and reliability of the deployment process.

- Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

- Manage version control using Git, including branching strategies and GitFlow.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build failures, deployments, and environment configurations.

- Maintain and support CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.

- Work with containerized applications and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.

- Create and maintain documentation related to deployment and infrastructure automation procedures.

- Improve collaboration between development, testing, and operations teams by enabling efficient workflows.

Key Skills and Qualifications :

- 4-8 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in related roles with a focus on CI/CD.

- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.

- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.

- Solid understanding of version control systems, primarily Git.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios.

- Experience working in an agile environment and collaborating closely with development and QA teams.

- Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and serverless technologies is a plus.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
