Job Summary: A Typesetting Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating the typesetting process within a publishing or design setting. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage both team members and projects to ensure the final product meets high-quality standards.

Broad Responsibilities/ Major Deliverables:

1. Team Management:
• Lead and supervise the typesetting team to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Delegate work to typesetters, providing guidance on how to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.

Quality Control:

• Review typesetting work to ensure it meets the quality standards and guidelines set by the company or client.
• Ensure that all content is formatted correctly, consistent in style, and free of errors.

Project Coordination:

• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., editors, designers, and project managers) to ensure smooth workflow and that typesetting is done according to project timelines.
• Track and report on the progress of projects, identifying any issues or delays and finding solutions.

Process Improvement:

• Continuously review and improve typesetting processes to increase efficiency and quality.
• Implement best practices and ensure the team adheres to industry standards for typesetting.

Client Liaison:

• Communicate with clients or internal stakeholders regarding specific formatting requirements or changes.
• Ensure that typesetting meets the client's vision and expectations.

Software Proficiency:

• Be proficient in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, or other industry-standard tools.
• Stay updated on new tools and technologies to improve the typesetting process.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

• Address and resolve any issues related to typesetting errors, formatting problems, or technical difficulties.
• Work with the team to identify solutions and prevent similar issues in the future.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of typesetting tasks, project details, and any revisions.
• Generate reports on the team's performance and project status.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:

- Consistent academic record (minimum 75% from SSC onwards)

- Graduate of any degree

- Be proficient in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, Office 365 or other industry-standard tools.

Age: 21 years onwards

Key Competencies: Proficiency in template creation, book cover design, and strong communication skills in English, combined with a pleasant personality, professional business etiquette, customer-centric approach, and a keen willingness to learn.

Salary: Rs 3.6 lakhs + Incentives per annum
