Compliance Manager

As a Compliance Manager, you work closely with the Head of Compliance to ensure the bank s compliance function operates effectively, in accordance with RBI circulars and statutory regulations through implementation of policies and processes required for regulatory and internal compliance for the Branch in India. You will be responsible to provide Compliance-related advice and support to business and implement compliance testing plan for the Branch in India.

You will also be accountable for:

• Assist the India Head of Compliance in managing the regulatory compliance function and local regulations for key stake holders by collating new requirements and circulating it to stake holders and following-up for implementation.
• Assist in collating and preparing appropriate response for interacting with regulators to obtain clarifications on various regulations affecting businesses and seek regulatory approvals.
• Keep the Banks obligation register updated at all times and ensure timely implementation and embedding of Non-Financial Risk Framework of Bank
• Assist the Head of Compliance in responding to Regulatory Audit observations, follow up with other departments for collating the data/ responses to audit observations, tracking of audit issues and follow up for corrective action.
• Conduct Compliance Monitoring & Testing in line with the Compliance Testing Plan of the Branch
• Track remediation of and report the observations al to India EXCO
• Prepare periodic MI pack for submission to Regional Compliance as well as for local committees like RMC, EXCO, ALCO etc.
• Coordinate with local Risk team for maintaining and updating compliance obligations register for various Legislative/ regulatory prescription.
• Keep pace with a dynamic and ever-changing Compliance and Regulatory environment.
• Partnering with Regional/ Global Compliance team in rolling out Regional/ Global initiatives.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Proven experience in compliance and /or risk background.
• Good understanding of Local RBI Regulations and Expectations and compliance framework in general
• General understanding of Banking products & processes
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proactive and persistent with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and bring new approaches to problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with ability to interact with and work effectively with multi-cultural teams across geographies
• Understanding of Financial Crime Risk area
• Training, coaching, mentoring experience desirable
• Ability to identify potential risks that could impact operations, systems and processes
• Skills in evaluating and assessing likelihood, impact, and severity of identified issues
• Tertiary qualifications or post-graduation in Finance
• ACAMS certification would be an added advantage
