This is a senior-level position reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Operations with primary responsibility focus ing on controversy, compliance, tax accounting, and contribut ing to tax research and special projects related to Indirect Tax. The Senior Indirect Tax Accountant is responsible for a range of taxes, including Sales and Use Tax, Real and Personal Property Tax, VAT Tax, Gross Receipts, and Jurisdictional Business Taxes.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the timely preparation and review of sales and use tax returns, VAT, sales tax registrations, property tax assessments, business licenses, and gross receipt reports
• Preparing and reviewing reconciliations of indirect tax financial statement accounts and assisting with tax accounting as needed
• Supporting indirect tax audits by gathering and reviewing requested information, helping defend the Companys tax positions, and preparing responses to taxing authorities
• Contributing to the implementation of special indirect tax projects, involving internal research and analysis on various indirect tax issues
• Collaborating effectively with external indirect tax service providers and auditors
• Working closely with internal departments such as accounting, IT, and legal to ensure a unified approach to indirect tax matters
• Assisting in developing and implementing indirect tax processes and procedures
• Reviewing and optimizing ERP processes and data extraction reports for indirect tax purposes
• Reviewing tax assessments and, when appropriate, assisting in challenging and protesting these assessments

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

• Proficient knowledge in indirect taxes
• Comprehension of GAAP and other authoritative guidance
• Minimum of a bachelor s degree in Accounting with 2-5 years of work-related experience in a relevant position
• Strong work ethic, communication, and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, ability to multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with varying levels of employees
• Strong computer skills: Proficient Excel skills and other Microsoft Office products
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred skills/qualifications:

• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, or other Accounting ERPs
• Experience using AvaTax or other tax software
