As a Principal Technical Program Manager in the Amazon Music team, you will collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, design, content producers and artist/label relation teams to deliver customer obsessed engineering solutions with efficient use of resources and technologies. You will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, balance the needs of the business and technical constraints. You will be a role model enforcer of industry standard software development processes and practices. You will be the face to leadership to demonstrate progress and surface risks early.

You possess a deep understanding of customer facing product design, mobile implementations, complex software services and will represent the technical team to senior leadership and partners. Your technical expertise, attention to details with regard to process efficiencies and operational excellence will influence the team s decisions and drive secure and robust solutions. You should not only be passionate about delivering great music experiences, but should also be obsessed with driving continuous process improvements to optimize product delivery. Key job responsibilities
* Drive implementation and delivery of large-scale Music initiatives.
* Lead agile engineering and design teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver the roadmap
* Understand service inter-dependencies, mobile implementation nuances and lead cross-functional teams towards technical solutions
* Clarify, prioritize and drive project commitments as well as establish and maintain clear chains of accountability
* Strong (executive) communication and presentation skills
* Articulate program goals, desired outcomes, risks and mitigation plans clearly
* Strong metrics based decision making skills
* Drive continued process improvements in the organization
* Strong JIRA/Asana, Airflight skills
* Mentor junior employees and build effective teams

About the team
The goal of Visual Immersive eXperiences (VIX) team within Amazon Music is to deliver a high quality and coherent end-to-end visual experience based on customer feedback tools we build and bring to life the customer s musical universe in a vivid and engaging way through immersive visual experiences. The North Star vision is to craft rich, immersive and engaging experiences that enable and deepen customers connections to content, creators, culture and community. We will leverage videos and motion to grab attention, evoke emotions and inspire action; videos can act as rabbit-holes through which customers forge their own personal journeys within the Music service: how you stumble upon new content or rediscover old favorites, how you explore what s interesting and trending and how you connect with creators who matter to you. We aspire to accelerate Amazon Music s evolution into a more dynamic, interactive and informative service, by creating a wide range of multimedia experiences for customers across music and non-music verticals, subscription tiers, territories and Visual platforms, as well as reach a broad audience across Amazon through deep integrations. For creators, we will offer ways to leverage these multimedia experiences to grow their brand and fan-base. We recognize vivid visual experiences are essential to artists creative output as a medium of performance, storytelling, social commentary, authenticity, fan connection, and so much more. - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
