Role : Sr Automation Engineer - Maintainance
- The role will be responsible for troubleshooting, design improvements, code implementation, Automation project management, change management and document update for Automation Systems such as [Programmable Logic controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Field Sensors] and Material Handling Systems (MHEs) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, X-ray machines, scales, systems, and control cabinets.
- The role focuses on implementing and scaling up control & automation best practices (including SCADA and OEE) and enhancing MHE reliability across all buildings.
- They will act as a liaison for internal and external resources, and be on call support as needed.
- The role will also provide right training to the RME Coordinators and Technicians on device troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance.
- The role would collaborate with various stakeholders including Operations, Solution & Controls Engineering, ACES, OEM, Global RME Automation, WHS teams, and field RME to ensure efficient and reliable operation of MHEs during BAU and ART events (LP Indexed: Deep Dive, Invent and Simplify).
Key Job Responsibilities :
Key Job responsibilities include :
- Perform PLC control level issue diagnosis
- Follow change management process and develop ad-hoc PLC ladder code change
- Familiarization with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC processers, input/output modules, SCADA, HMI, VFDs and field sensors.
- Familiarization with various network communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus-DP, MPI and be able to perform network diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Drive control and automation related project progress, and metric deep dive on control issues (OEE, SCADA, AWCS etc.)
- Be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation.
- Ensures policies are followed (MCM, Software backups, etc.)
- Follow Escalation procedure for control related issues and review contingency plan
- Review Controls PPM & inspect critical control spare parts with APM Planner
- Provide detailed analysis and testing of existing and new engineering solutions and components
- Work with IT, FC Software and Operations Engineering to develop and update controls knowledge and training document for the Facilities Engineering team.
- Provide technical documentation such as flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets.
- Support commissioning of new automation elements and perform Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) checks
- Actively participate in local or IN network level control projects and Initiatives
- Ensures adherence to all Health & Safety procedures.
- Be proactive in the raising of potential H&S issues and the development of personal safety awareness
- Use AutoCAD to review, develop and maintain electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings
- Document control system and equipment configuration changes and keep the documentation updated on the SharePoint site.
- Be responsible for Amazon Maintenance System (AMS) Automation pillar Audits
- Ensure remote troubleshooting capability is available on a rotational system to provide 24/7/365 support for all hardware or controls software systems during Peak and BAU Role & responsibilities
