Business Systems Administrator

Role & responsibilities

The Business Systems Administrator is responsible for:

• Providing administration and support expertise across the below ALS Global IT Applications and Systems:
• Microsoft Office365 Suite
• Microsoft Teams
• Windows Server -Physical and Virtual server and the Console management
• AntiVirus
• Active Directory
• Intune /SCCM
• Veeam Back-Up Software
• Accellion (Cloud File Sharing)
• Aurion (Payroll)
• Citrix
• QNAP software
• MS SQL Server (support assistance only)
• SharePoint (support assistance only)
• The role will also provide some assistance and coordination of support in relation to in-house LIMS platforms, where needed.

NOTE: The applications in-scope for this role may evolve as ALS application portfolio changes.

• Acting as an escalation point for high priority issues impacting IT applications and systems, ensuring high priority issues are communicated and managed effectively.
• Coordinating with a variety of business users to define requirements for business improvement and productivity solutions across IT applications and systems.
• Provide regular reporting to IT leadership, outlining activities, performance, recommendations and improvement initiatives across IT application and systems.
• Contributing to the overall direction and strategy for IT applications and systems across ALS Global.
• Managing the relationships with vendors to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, escalation of problems and awareness of new applications and system offerings.
• Preparation and ongoing maintenance of documentation relating to the ALS Global IT applications and systems.

The Business Systems Administrator has the following Quality responsibilities:

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of IT applications and systems
• Ensure adherence to all documented IT Policies and Procedures across the APAC IT region.

The Business Systems Administrator has the following Safety responsibilities:

• To understand the companys major HSE policies.
• To understand the companys safety & environmental requirements as set out in the safety manual.
• To ensure that the business is compliant with ALS requirements for Health, Safety and the Environment.
• To report and rectify any compliance concerns, unsafe practice or environmental harm.
• To develop and further improve the safety & sustainability culture within the business unit through strong leadership.
• To comply with current state OHS legislation

Preferred candidate profile

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Overall 5+ yrs of IT experience, 3+ yrs working as System Administrator
• Ability to build strong relationships and work cooperatively with a variety of business users and staff.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in the preparation of documentation for both technical and non-technical staff.
• Proven experience with a variety of IT applications and systems across a multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated experience with an ITSM toolset, such as ManageEngine SD+ etc.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT and/or extensive practical experience would be highly regarded.
• Understanding of Project Management methodologies (e.g. Prince2, Agile) is advantageous.
• Occasional out of hours work to meet business requirements.
• Confident to deliver presentations and facilitate meetings.
• Availability to undertake domestic travel only on an as-needed basis.
