Job Description

The Senior Design Manager will lead and inspire a team of visual designers and eLearning Developers, overseeing the creation and execution of high quality, user-centred designs and development for our eLearning projects. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on design expertise, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences and driving design innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers and eL developers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
Manage design resources and workflow to ensure timely delivery of projects.

2. Design Strategy and Vision:

Collaborate with stakeholders to define design strategies and objectives that align with customer requirements.
Develop and communicate a clear vision for design projects, ensuring alignment with overall Learning strategy and brand standards.

3. Project Oversight:

Oversee the design process from concept to execution, including UIs, visual design, visual mockups, prototypes, and final course output.
Ensure design solutions are user-centered, addressing usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with project managers, Instructional Designers, developers, and other cross-functional teams to integrate design solutions with the overall Learning solution.
Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments.

5. Innovation and Best Practices:

Stay current with design trends, technologies, and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance our design processes and products.
Drive continuous improvement by experimenting with new design approaches and methodologies.

6. Quality Assurance:

Ensure high standards of design quality and consistency across all eLearning products.
Conduct design reviews and user testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs as needed.
