Manager - Public Advocacy & Corporate Affairs (Medical Devices Org.)

Job Title: Manager Public Advocacy, Public Relations & Corporate/Government Liaising

Key Responsibilities

1. Public Advocacy

• Advocate for policies and regulatory changes that support the growth of the medical device and equipment manufacturing industry.
• Represent the company in industry forums, associations, and advocacy groups to strengthen its voice and influence.
• Monitor legislative and policy changes affecting the medical device sector and communicate their impact to the management team.
• Develop position papers, whitepapers, and reports on industry-related matters to support advocacy efforts.

2. Public Relations (PR)

• Develop and implement strategic PR campaigns to enhance the companys reputation within the industry and among stakeholders.
• Build relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to ensure consistent and positive coverage of the organization.
• Act as a spokesperson for the company in public forums, press conferences, and media interactions.
• Manage crisis communication and ensure timely and effective responses to reputation-sensitive situations.

3. Corporate Liaising

• Establish and maintain relationships with corporate stakeholders, including hospitals, healthcare providers, and industry partners.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, etc.) to identify and address stakeholder concerns effectively.
• Organize and participate in corporate events, trade fairs, and exhibitions to promote the organizations products and values.

4. Government Liaising

• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies (e.g., CDSCO), and policymakers to ensure smooth business operations.
• Facilitate government approvals, clearances, and compliance related to the medical device industry.
• Represent the organization in government meetings, policy discussions, and consultation processes.
• Coordinate with regulatory teams to ensure adherence to statutory requirements and maintain a proactive approach to government relations.

5. Strategic Communication

• Develop and execute communication strategies to align with the organizations objectives and values.
• Prepare presentations, proposals, and reports for stakeholders, showcasing the companys impact, achievements, and initiatives.
• Ensure consistency in messaging across all advocacy, PR, and liaising activities.

a) Successful advocacy for favourable policy changes affecting the medical device industry.

b) Positive media coverage and public perception of the organization.

c) Strengthened relationships with key government officials and corporate stakeholders.

d) Timely resolution of regulatory and compliance-related issues.

e) Successful representation of the organization in public and corporate forums.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Graduate/Post-Graduate in Public Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A background in healthcare or medical device regulations is preferred.

Experience: 810 years of experience in public advocacy, PR, corporate/government liaising, or a similar role, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.

Knowledge:

a) Strong understanding of medical device industry regulations, including CDSCO, ISO standards, and other regulatory frameworks.

b) Familiarity with government processes, policies, and stakeholders in the healthcare domain.

c) Excellent knowledge of strategic communication and media relations.
