Principal Research Associate/ Program Lead

Responsibilities Areas: 1. Manage programs related to demand side management/demand

response/demand flexibility that will require working with national and state departments and agencies, power utilities, electricity regulatory commissions, and solution providers.

2. Lead the research and analyses carried out under the SRP team. Conduct financial analysis and synthesize recommendations /findings into clear and compelling presentations and reports.

3. Help develop programs, policies, business and financing models, and work on deploying appropriate technologies at scale to transform the power distribution sector.

4. Provide thought leadership and strategic communications for SRP team. Keep track of regulatory changes and participate with point of views on related discussions with regulators, utilities, etc.

5. Identify, create, and pursue opportunities to this end and lead the development of ideas, proposal writing, fund raising, and execution of big ideas for the team.

6. Collaborate with the government, AEEE member companies, and funders, leading to measurable impact.

7. Serve as a primary spokesperson at AEEE on areas under the SRP team.

8. Support in conducting meetings and building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including policymakers, public agencies, businesses, subject-matter experts, funding agencies, academia, and peer organizations.

9. Support AEEE strategy to expand its impactful work into South Asia region, Africa, etc. to enhance global south cooperation in energy efficiency.

10. Conceptualize and establish customized training offering of AEEE 11. Support talent acquisition and retention at AEEE.

GENERAL 7+ years of manager and supervisory experience. Proficiency in one or more sub-segments demand side

management, demand response, energy efficiency policies. Managing a budget of INR 3+ crores in

Master s degree in architecture, engineering, management, or a related technical and management field.

15+ years of experience working in the power sector, with a strong focus on power distribution and energy efficiency in a senior role.

Working knowledge of energy markets and strong background in utility driven DSM programs.

Demonstrated experience of working with power utilities, relevant government departments and agencies, and regulators in a senior role (such as team lead, project lead, project manager).

Demonstrated ability to identify sector needs, lead research, analysis, and other project activities.

Demonstrated ability to understand, analyse and synthesise technical and policy matters.

Demonstrated strategic/critical thinking skills for developing new work areas and for leading collaborations with various stakeholders.

Strong communication (especially written) skills. Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving many

moving parts and teams. Demonstrated ability in working with and managing consultants,

sub-contractors, and/or interns to get on-time and high-quality deliverables.

Excellent visualization and presentation skills Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and

presentation software Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams Commitment to AEEE s
