Job Summary: We are seeking a talented Team Leader Web API Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing robust and scalable APIs to support various web and mobile applications. As a Team Leader Web API Developer, you will work closely with our software development team to design, implement, and maintain APIs that power our platform.

Role & responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs to support various web and mobile applications.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define API specifications.
3. Optimize API performance for speed and scalability.
4. Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data.
5. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
6. Troubleshoot and debug API-related issues in a timely manner.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development and API design.
8. Document API endpoints, request/response payloads, and usage examples for internal and external consumption.
9. Work closely with front-end developers to integrate APIs into client applications.
10. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Web API development, with a strong technical background in RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Proven experience in a team lead or senior developer role, managing projects and mentoring team members.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, or Python, with experience in frameworks like .NET Core, Node.js, or Django.
• Strong understanding of API security, including OAuth, JWT, and encryption.
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks, such as Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
