Group Leader - XRD Analysis

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage a group of XRD analysts responsible for the analysis of API and Finished Dosage Forms.
• Perform XRD analysis and interpretation of data to determine the crystallographic structure, composition, and polymorphism of pharmaceutical samples.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of Patents and Regulatory Guidance to support the development and evaluation of new drug products.
• Conduct comprehensive literature searches to gather relevant information and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in XRD analysis and material science.
• Correlate XRD characterizations with other analytical techniques to gain a comprehensive understanding of the physical and chemical properties of pharmaceutical samples.
• Conduct and oversee DCS/TGA analysis and provide expert interpretation of the results.
• Perform particle size determination using appropriate techniques and instruments.
• Utilize microscopy techniques to examine and characterize pharmaceutical samples at the micro scale level.
• Conduct IR analysis to determine molecular structures and functional groups present in pharmaceutical samples.
• Provide expert interpretation of LC-MS-MS, GC-MS-MS/HRMS data, and NMR spectra to support the identification and quantification of compounds in pharmaceutical samples.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of analytical results.
• Develop and validate analytical methods, and protocols for XRD analysis and related techniques.
• Train and mentor junior scientists in XRD analysis, data interpretation, and other relevant techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, laboratory protocols, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) during all analytical activities.

Preferred candidate profile

Ph.D. in Chemistry with 10 + years of experience with a focus on XRD analysis and material science. A Master's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Proven experience in XRD analysis and interpretation, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.

Strong knowledge and understanding of Patents and Regulatory Guidance related to XRD

analysis in the pharmaceutical field.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
