Job Description:

Alation is seeking to hire an energetic and capable AR Analyst to partner with the team to build a great accounting organization. Reporting to the AR Manager, this role is critical in supporting the Companys continued track record of strong growth and driving a scalable and efficient operation. In this role, youll strengthen and grow relationships with customers by communicating regarding their balances. You will assist in streamlining and improving the accounts receivable process, identifying performance improvement areas. The ideal person has experience in a fast-paced startup environment. The candidate is goal-orientated and will see challenges as opportunities and not be comfortable settling for the status quo.

What youll do:

• Act as a knowledge expert for AR and CR functions.

• Collaborate with order management, revenue accounting, tax, and sales team to understand the deal structure and billing schedule, and issue invoices in NetSuite ( NS ).

• Work closely with Customers and the Alation sales team to resolve outstanding issues related to billing and collections.

• Perform cash application to outstanding invoices in NS and reconcile the accounts monthly.

• Review aged Receivable detail report weekly and provide feedback for past due accounts along with weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forecasting reports.

• Support the Tax department with sales tax responsibilities including checking customer s taxable status, requesting exemption certificates if needed, maintaining related database.

• Educate Sales team on the company s account receivable policies and processes.

What you need:

• 2+ years of experience in working knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Collections, and basic Sales tax knowledge is preferred.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred

• Experience in NetSuite (Preferred).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as a part of a team.

• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to solve complicated problems, motivated to implement improvements, to inspire change while staying within the company s culture being collaborative and inclusive.

• Must be flexible with working hours given the global coverage of this role.
