Job Opportunity:

Chef for New Product Development (PM POSHAN Scheme) For Pondicherry Kitchen.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef/Sous Chef to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop new food products tailored to the requirements of the PM POSHAN Scheme. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bulk cooking and a deep understanding of Satvik food principles, ensuring that all meals are nutritious, wholesome, and culturally appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

• New Product Development: Innovate and develop new recipes and food products that align with the PM POSHAN Scheme's nutritional guidelines and requirements for government school children.
• Satvik Food: Ensure all meals adhere to Satvik food principles, focusing on purity, simplicity, and a balanced diet.
• Bulk Cooking: Design recipes and meal plans that are scalable for large quantities, maintaining consistency and quality in bulk cooking environments.
• Nutritional Compliance: Work closely with nutritionists and dietitians to ensure all meals meet the dietary needs of children, including caloric and nutrient requirements.
• Menu Planning: Create and update menu cycles that incorporate seasonal ingredients and local flavors, ensuring variety and appeal to children.
• Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
• Training and Supervision: Train and supervise kitchen staff on new recipes, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
• Cost Management: Monitor food costs and work within budget constraints to optimize resources without compromising on quality.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers, kitchen staff, and other stakeholders to source high-quality ingredients and ensure smooth operations.
• Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from school children and staff to continually improve recipes and meal offerings.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef, preferably in large-scale cooking operations.
• Expertise in Satvik food and a deep understanding of its principles.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.
• Excellent culinary skills with a creative approach to menu planning and recipe development.
• Ability to manage large-scale cooking operations and ensure consistency and quality.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Degree or certification in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred.
