Steel Fabrication / Floor Supervisor

The Steel Fabrication / Floor Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the fabrication shop floor. This role is crucial for maintaining high productivity levels, managing manpower and contractors, and ensuring that fabrication works are executed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in steel fabrication, experience with fabrication drawings and BOQs, and strong supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Execution:
  
• Supervise the daily activities on the shop floor to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Execute fabrication tasks according to design specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure that work is completed on time and meets quality requirements.
• Fabrication Drawings & BOQ:
  
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to guide the production process.
• Ensure that all fabrication work adheres to the provided drawings and specifications.
• Manpower & Contractor Management:
  
• Manage and allocate tasks to shop floor staff and contractors effectively.
• Provide training and support to new and existing team members.
• Monitor performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
• Inventory Control:
  
• Oversee the management of materials and inventory to ensure that adequate supplies are available for fabrication tasks.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with procurement for material replenishment.
• Productivity & Quality Assurance:
  
• Implement and monitor procedures to maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Identify and address any bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the fabrication process.
• Safety & Compliance:
  
• Ensure that all shop floor operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Promote a culture of safety and address any safety concerns or violations immediately.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 3-5 years of experience in the prefab construction or steel fabrication industry.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and BOQs.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, productivity enhancement, and inventory management.
• Proven ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with advanced fabrication technologies and tools.
• Familiarity with industry-specific software and equipment.
