Senior Architect

Role & responsibilities

• Evaluate on-site facility and prepare technical reports and interpret applicable codes for
• compliance.
• Lead design and construction projects from start to finish. Involves working directly with architects and clients to turn their concepts into functional structures.
• Perform special functions and assignments related to the architectural discipline, as requested.
• Stamp engineering documents as/when required. Assist estimating the development of estimates.
• Able to maintain a log of all revisions to standard drawings and specifications and manage the file containing current specifications and logs of all proposed changes to the standard documents.
• Preparing and developing drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design
• Rendering skills using a variety of 3D modeling software. Producing project related correspondence and reports.
• Considering budget, safety and community requirements for a project. Creating new building designs.
• Advising on the restoration and conservation of existing buildings. Ensuring building regulations, planning laws and environmental considerations are met.
• Drawing detailed plans and blueprints using computer design programs. Working closely with contractors, engineers, surveyors, lawyers and planning departments.
• Inspecting structures during the build, to make sure they meet requirements.
• Supervising other architects throughout each phase of a buildings design and construction
• Ensuring jobs are completed on time and to budget.
• Working in an office, with occasional or frequent site visits and meetings. Working directly with other professionals with supervision. Creating building designs using computer-aided design software.
• Managing contract bids and tenders. Deciding which building materials are needed. Checking construction plans for potential design issues.
• Identifying any environmental or legal issues.Liaising with surveyors, clients, architects and construction workers.
• Helping to apply for planning permission. Visiting sites to check on the progress or any issues that might arise.
• Performing risk assessments and assigning work to the rest of the design team.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 8+ years of experience as chartered Architect.
• Bachelor or master degree in architecture field from a recognized University (B.Arch). Must have secured frist class if not will not be considered.
• Excellent command English both written and spoken.
• The ability to manage a heavy workload, with close attention to detail.
