Senior Engineer - AVD

AHEAD is searching for an AVD Expert to be a part of our Managed Services team.  Candidates are eager to learn, customer focused, an effective communicator, self-initiating and can perform most tasks without direct oversight.  This position will report to and receive direction from the POD Delivery Manager.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage Azure Active Directory for Azure Virtual Desktop related systems
• Analyze system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions for AVD based production configuration
• Manage Azure Active Directory for Azure AVD and Azure AVD Clusters HA systems.
• Analyze system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions for Azure AVD-based production configuration.
• Manage and deploy updates via Azure update manager.
• Update the AVD image based on business requirements provided by the client, including monthly security patches, updates required to support client enterprise release and version upgrades of software that has been operationalized.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of VDI environments, including servers, storage, networking, and virtual machines.
• Manage and optimize the performance of the VDI infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability with terraform.
• Creating, updating, and responding to Monitors of the AVD environment.
• Help in management of the business applications that are installed on Azure VD Improve and adjust Azure VD
• Ensure business continuity and security across all systems supporting the company IT operations

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 10+ years of related experience in AVD & VDI
• Decent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure ecosystem
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Azure Virtual Desktop Solution
• Strong hands-on experience in Azure Virtual Desktop Operational Support.
• Have good knowledge of Azure AVD publishing applications web server load balancing Resource Manager License Management.
• Good hands-on experience in automating upgradation/migration, remediation, jobs, and report tasks by creating PowerShell CLI scripts and PowerShell and Batch scripts.
• Create all necessary documentation including system standards, run books, and more research
