Freelance Auditor

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Auditor to conduct environmental and energy management system audits, as well as green building certification assessments, for clients across Tamil Nadu. The role requires expertise in ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 50001 (Energy Management System), and Green Building Certifications (such as IGBC, LEED, or GRIHA). The auditor will ensure compliance with standards, identify improvement opportunities, and provide professional recommendations to enhance sustainability performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Audit & Compliance

• Conduct independent third-party audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, ensuring organizations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Perform green building assessments based on LEED, IGBC, or GRIHA certification frameworks.
• Review environmental and energy management policies, procedures, and records to assess conformity with standards.
• Identify non-conformities, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.

2. Technical Assessment & Reporting

• Assess energy efficiency, carbon footprint, water management, and waste reduction measures in client facilities.
• Conduct onsite inspections, stakeholder interviews, and documentation reviews as part of the audit process.
• Evaluate energy consumption patterns, sustainability practices, and resource optimization strategies.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to help organizations enhance their environmental and energy performance.

4. Documentation & Review

• Ensure audit documentation aligns with ISO and certification body requirements.
• Stay updated with changes in environmental regulations, energy efficiency policies, and green building certification criteria.
• Support in maintaining a strong auditing framework that adheres to national and international standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

✅ Educational Background:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Energy Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.

✅ Certifications & Training:

• Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 (mandatory).
• Green Building certification experience (e.g., IGBC AP, LEED AP, or GRIHA Evaluator) is highly preferred.

✅ Work Experience:

• 5+ years of auditing experience in environmental and energy management systems.
• Hands-on experience with ISO certification audits and sustainability assessments.
• Familiarity with Tamil Nadus environmental and energy regulations.

✅ Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying environmental and energy inefficiencies.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with high ethical standards as a Type A inspection auditor.
• Proficiency in MS Office, energy audit tools, and environmental impact assessment methodologies.
