The Executive Cargo Operations is responsible for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day cargo handling activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient movement of cargo.
Key Responsibilities
Cargo Coordination
Manage the acceptance, storage, and dispatch of cargo according to standard operating procedures.
Coordinate with ground handling teams, freight forwarders, and transport providers to ensure timely cargo movement.
Monitor cargo flows to prevent delays, damage, or loss.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and verify shipping documentation, such as airway bills, cargo manifests, and customs declarations.
Ensure all operations comply with local and international regulations (e.g., IATA, ICAO, customs).
Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking details, and inventory.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Management
Serve as a point of contact for customers, responding to inquiries, providing shipment updates, and resolving issues.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, customer service) and external stakeholders (e.g., customs officials, transport agencies).
Foster strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Safety & Security
Enforce adherence to safety and security protocols during cargo handling and storage.
Conduct or participate in regular safety audits and inspections.
Report and investigate any incidents or irregularities promptly.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track and analyze operational metrics (e.g., turnaround times, shipment accuracy) to identify areas for improvement.
Prepare regular performance and status reports for management.
Implement corrective actions to optimize processes and reduce operational costs.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline cargo operations, enhance service quality, and reduce costs.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Participate in training and development programs to improve operational knowledge and skills.
