Summary / Role Purpose Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to support our customers on all aspects of their real-world engineering simulation projects and integration of Ansys software in their design workflows and grow Ansys business. You will use engineering knowledge to work on challenging proofs-of-concept, engaging in presales activities to support sales campaigns, scoping, and delivering professional services to support software growth and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Leverage engineering expertise in optical and opto-mechanical simulation to provide top-tier technical support for Ansys Speos customers and prospects.
Take ownership of customer challenges, proactively engaging with key accounts to deliver comprehensive solutions that align with their business and product design needs.
Support pre-sales and post-sales technical activities, collaborating with customers to understand their engineering workflows and effectively communicate Ansys value proposition.
Develop technical expertise in one or more simulation areas for Optics applications, as needed.
Submit suggestions for product improvement, when needed. File defect reports and verify fixes adhering to defect reporting processes. May also participate in field testing of new releases to ensure that new features and workflows will address customer requirements.
Create best practice documentation based on experience working with customers.
On an as-needed basis, support Sales and Marketing by conducting demonstrations, webinars, online training, and other meetings.
Participate in other strategic team and company initiatives, as needed.
Support the expansion of the optics simulation business in Japan, collaborating closely with the Ansys Japan team, with the potential to expand support to the broader APAC region as needed.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Education: Master s degree in physics, Optics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Technical Experience:
Hands-on experience in an engineering software environment.
Proficiency in commercial optical design software such as Ansys Speos or Synopsys LucidShape or LightTools.
Basic proficiency in using CAD software like Siemens NX, PTC Creo, CATIA or SpaceClaim.
Strong knowledge of optical theory and demonstrated experience in modeling optical systems.
Skills Competencies:
Logical problem-solving abilities with strong analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken English. Japanese language proficiency will be an added advantage.
Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency.
Professional demeanor with business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
Ability to work effectively and independently in a distributed team environment.
Customer Engagement:
Experience in providing technical support, consulting services, or customer-facing roles.
Ability to understand complex technical concepts and articulate responses clearly and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: Master s+3 Years, PhD+0.
Background in automotive lighting or ADAS component manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Familiarity with Python and/ or MATLAB.
A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience using Ansys Speos software.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an engineering software environment.
Prior experience working directly in a customer-facing role.
