Electrical - Automation Engineer | Steel Industry - (Nigeria)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical automation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 8 years of experience and a deep knowledge of PLC systems, specifically in the context of BAR mill operations. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining automated electrical systems to enhance production efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical control systems for BAR mill automation.
• Program and configure PLC systems for optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical equipment and automation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions into existing processes.
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Document electrical designs, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff on electrical systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in electrical automation, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, control theory, and automation technologies.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in electrical engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the steel or metal manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with industry-specific software tools and simulation programs.
