Senior Geologist-Exploration-Base Metals -Nigeria

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to lead our exploration division, focusing on Base Metal deposits like Lead, Zinc, Copper, Gold, Tin, Lithium. The successful candidate will serve as a Competent Person, responsible for driving exploration strategies, managing geological teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Technical:*

1. Develop and implement exploration strategies for base metals.

2. Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and logging.

3. Interpret geological data, including geochemical and geophysical information.

4. Identify and evaluate potential exploration targets.

5. Design and supervise drilling programs.

6. Analyze and interpret drill core and sample data.

*Leadership:*

1. Lead and manage geological teams, including junior geologists and contractors.

2. Mentor and develop junior staff.

3. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., mining, processing) to ensure alignment.

*Compliance:*

1. Ensure compliance with JORC/NI 43-101 reporting standards.

2. Prepare and review technical reports, including resource estimates.

3. Maintain accurate records and databases.

*Business:*

1. Contribute to business development through exploration discoveries.

2. Manage exploration budgets and resources.

3. Collaborate with stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and joint venture partners.

*Requirements:*

*Essential:*

1. MSc or Ph.D. in Geology or related field.

2. 10+ years of experience in base metal exploration.

3. Proven track record of successful exploration discoveries.

4. Strong knowledge of geological modeling, resource estimation, and JORC/NI 43-101 reporting.

5. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

*Desirable:*

1. Experience with geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Geosoft).

2. Familiarity with African/Asian/South American geological settings.

3. Certification as a Competent Person (CP) or Qualified Person (QP).
