Job Description for MAC Support Engineer

Position: MAC Support Engineer
Experience Level: 2-5 years

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hardware & Software Support:
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with macOS, Mac hardware (MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini), and peripherals (keyboards, mice, monitors, etc.).
• Install, configure, and maintain macOS applications and system updates.
• Provide support for Apple accessories, including AirPods, Magic Trackpads, and adapters.
2. User Support:
• Respond to end-user support requests via email, phone, or ticketing system.
• Provide guidance to users on macOS features, best practices, and security measures.
3. System Administration:
• Manage and maintain enterprise-level macOS environments, including user accounts and permissions.
• Integrate macOS systems with Active Directory and other directory services.
• Implement and maintain MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions like Jamf, Intune, or Kandji.
4. Network & Connectivity:
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues related to Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPNs on macOS devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot Apple devices within corporate networks.
5. Backup & Data Management:
• Ensure regular backups using tools like Time Machine or third-party solutions.
• Assist users with data migration and recovery.
6. Security & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies on macOS systems.
• Manage endpoint protection tools and ensure devices are patched and secure.
7. Documentation & Training:
• Create and maintain technical documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide training sessions for end-users on macOS features and tools.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in macOS troubleshooting and configuration.
• Knowledge of Apple hardware repair processes and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with enterprise tools like Jamf Pro, Kandji, or Intune.
• Proficiency in scripting for macOS (e.g., Bash, Python, or AppleScript) is a plus.
• Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
• Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk.
