Urban Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement urban design strategies and plans.
• Conduct site analysis and research to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare design proposals, drawings, and presentations.
• Present design ideas to clients, public officials, and community members.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in urban design.
• Participate in public consultations and community engagement activities.
• Evaluate the environmental, social, and economic impact of design proposals.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
• Review and critique design proposals from other team members.
• Manage project timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during project implementation.
• Prepare reports and documentation for project approvals.
• Advocate for sustainable and inclusive urban design practices.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in urban design and planning.
• Strong portfolio showcasing urban design projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
• Experience with community engagement and public consultation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Creative and innovative thinking.

• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Professional licensure or certification is a plus.
