Assistant Manager- Indirect Taxation

Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for handling and managing GST-related disputes and litigation. This role includes representing the company in tax authorities' proceedings, providing strategic advice on tax-related matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in GST laws, excellent analytical skills, and experience in litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end GST litigation processes, including drafting replies to notices, appeals, and petitions.
• Represent the organization before various tax authorities and appellate bodies.
• Provide legal research and analysis on GST regulations and amendments to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as tax consultants and legal advisors, to strategize on litigation matters.
• Maintain and update records of all ongoing and past cases and prepare reports for management.
• Advise the finance and tax teams on GST implications and risks in various transactions.
• Assist in handling GST audits and inspections by government authorities.
• Develop and implement strategies to minimize litigation risks and ensure favorable outcomes.
• Conduct internal training and awareness sessions on GST litigation and related compliance practices.
• Stay updated with changes in GST laws and relevant judicial pronouncements.

Qualifications:

• Charted Accountant/Bachelors/ Master’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in GST litigation or indirect tax practice.
• Strong knowledge of GST laws, procedures, and legal precedents.
• Experience in appearing before tax authorities and preparing case documentation.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and tax compliance software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
