Overview:
The Vice President / Head, International Business and Export, is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's global strategy for business development, market expansion, and export operations. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, establishing brand presence, and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders in international markets. This executive will work closely with internal teams, distributors, and partners to ensure the company's products achieve significant market share across targeted regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the international business strategy to achieve revenue, profit, and market share goals.
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships for global expansion.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic international initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to adjust strategies accordingly.
Business Development:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with international distributors, importers, and key stakeholders.
- Develop and negotiate contracts, joint ventures, and partnerships to maximize market penetration.
- Assess potential market entry strategies, including product positioning, pricing, and distribution models.
- Oversee market research to identify emerging opportunities and consumer trends.
Export Operations:
- Manage all aspects of export operations, including compliance with international trade laws, regulations, and customs procedures.
- Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, and production teams to ensure efficient distribution and delivery of products.
- Establish export strategies tailored to different regions, considering economic, political, and cultural factors.
- Ensure alignment of production capacities with export demand.
P&L Management:
- Take ownership of international business P&L and ensure financial targets are met.
- Drive cost-effective operations while maximizing profitability through innovative market strategies.
- Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior leadership.
Brand and Marketing Strategy:
- Lead brand positioning and promotional strategies in international markets to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Oversee advertising, sponsorships, and public relations initiatives to elevate the brand in international markets.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create region-specific campaigns that resonate with local audiences.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing international business team.
- Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and professional development programs.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results orientation within the international business unit.
Regulatory and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with international regulations and standards specific to the liquor industry.
- Oversee certification processes, labeling requirements, and health regulations in all relevant markets.
- Work with legal teams to navigate complex legal frameworks, trade agreements, and tariffs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in international business development, export, or sales within the liquor or beverage industry.
- Proven track record of successfully expanding business in global markets, particularly in Europe, Asia, and emerging economies.
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws, export regulations, and customs procedures specific to alcoholic beverages.
