About The Role :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis 1 (Chinese) to join our culinary team in Visakhapatnam, India. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations, specifically focusing on Chinese cuisine. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese dishes according to recipes and chef's instructions
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely delivery of dishes
Support senior chefs in various kitchen tasks, including mise en place and food presentation
Handle and store ingredients properly, minimizing waste and maintaining quality
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Participate in regular kitchen meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills
Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements for Chinese cuisine offerings
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with a focus on Chinese cuisine
Diploma in Hotel Management or related culinary field
Proficiency in Chinese cooking techniques and flavor profiles
Strong knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality in food preparation and presentation
Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative kitchen environment
Basic English language skills for effective communication in a diverse team
