Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Control

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Ensure optimal resource utilization (manpower, materials, machines) to meet production goals.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, quality, and logistics, to align production plans with supply chain and quality standards.

2. Process Optimization and Efficiency

• Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to maximize productivity.
• Identify areas for cost reduction, including material waste, labor hours, and energy consumption, and implement efficiency measures.
• Regularly review production processes and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and consistency.

3. Quality Assurance

• Ensure that products meet quality standards at each stage of production.
• Work closely with the quality control team to identify, address, and prevent defects or non-conformities.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.

4. Workforce Management and Training

• Supervise and lead production staff, ensuring proper task allocation, motivation, and productivity.
• Provide training and coaching to team members, focusing on technical skills, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Handle workforce scheduling and attendance management to maintain adequate staffing levels.

5. Maintenance and Equipment Management

• Oversee regular maintenance of production machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and comply with safety standards.

6. Inventory Management

• Ensure raw materials and components are available in sufficient quantities to meet production demands.
• Monitor stock levels and work with procurement to reorder materials in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and minimize excess inventory and waste.

7. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance

• Enforce health and safety protocols on the production floor and ensure all employees adhere to safety guidelines.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize waste and emissions.

8. Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, efficiency metrics, and other key indicators.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and other relevant data.
• Communicate production status, challenges, and progress to management and suggest solutions for any issues.

9. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, product quality, and production costs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and implement new technologies or methods that could enhance production capabilities.
• Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning among production staff.

Preferred candidate profile

ITI,Diploma, Mechanical Engineer with an experience of around 15 years in production in manufacturing.
