Summary of the IT Infrastructure Engineer role

IT Infrastructure Engineer, the main purpose of your role will be to provide reliable, high quality IT Services for the business IT systems and infrastructure, aligning service delivery with business needs.

Reporting directly to the Head of IT Operations you will be a part of ABInBev India IT Infrastructure team to deliver and support a reliable and cost-effective service across all support systems.

This role will be based at our site in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore with the expectation of some travel to our remote sites when required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Managing the day to day operational and Projects tasks within the IT Infrastructure team.
• Managing the IT Infrastructure staff/vendors by providing required trainings, communicating job expectations and monitoring performance.
• Effective management of multiple IT/IS projects and service operations requires strong daily, weekly, and monthly coordination and administrative support.
• Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Propose improvement measures with a focus on avoiding downtime, ensuring scalability and maximizing productivity.
• Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
• Generating performance reports for Service Desk function.
• Evaluating technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
• Keeping up to date with advances in technology and industry best practice.
• Demonstrating a deep technical and strategic understanding of the IT Services and Operations delivered.
• Solving complex and diverse problems by continually re-evaluating new and/or conflicting factors.
• Managing internal and external communications and being the primary contact for the vendors.

Requirements for the role

• Previous experience of at least 3 years in an operations team within an IT capacity.
• Proficiency in network and hardware technologies, storage technologies, cloud computing, Server Management.
• Proven knowledge and experience of delivering technical support services.
• Experience in ITIL processes.
• Service Performance Management, Critical Issues Management, SLA Management.
• Strive to deliver results and work towards the betterment of user performance.
• Experience with implementing and maintaining effective data protection services, including security, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with hybrid environments including on-premises and cloud services.
• Good attention to detail, improving process efficiency without sacrificing quality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain productive relationships with subordinates, peers, and senior management.
• Ability to collaboratively solve complex problems.
• Ability to work under pressure and managing conflicting priorities.
• Facilitation and project management skills.
