Gosh!!!  Why a question like this for a software tester...same thing strike in my mind when I was asked this question ...and you know what, I was really not aware that interviewer gona ask me political question ....why should I read general  knowledge while preparing for QA interviews its simple because he want test  how much you're aware of your sorroundings. Or you're just a book worm who gona follow rigid models instead of of trying your own creativity in IT industry where you face new challenges every day  and you have to buckle up on daily basis to compete in agile work environment.
