Refrigerant is compressed by the compressor, increasing its pressure and temperature.
The high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant then flows to the condenser where it releases heat to the surroundings and condenses into a liquid.
The liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve, where it undergoes a pressure drop and becomes a low-pressure, low-temperature mixture of liquid and vapour.
This mixture then enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the surroundings and evaporates into a low-pressure vapour.
The cycle repeats as the vapour is drawn back into the compressor to start the process again.
