There is a criteria for this, it is depend on total span length of bridge.If it is greater than equal to 60 m then it will be major bridge,and if it is between 6 m and 60 m then it is a minor bridge

The box culverts are upto 6mtr length, From bridge length is 6 to 60 mtr its called minor and above 60 mtr is called major bridges.
