"OST" and "PST" are file formats used by Microsoft Outlook, the popular email client and personal information manager.

  • OST (Offline Storage Table):

OST is an abbreviation for "Offline Storage Table." In order to allow users to access their email, calendar, contacts, and other data even when they are not connected to the internet or their mail server, Microsoft Outlook uses an offline data file. An OST file, which acts as a local copy of the user's mailbox stored on the Exchange Server, is created on the user's computer when Outlook is set up to operate in Cached Exchange Mode.

  • PST (Personal Storage Table):

Microsoft Outlook stores data in this additional file type, which includes emails, calendar events, contacts, and other stuff. PST files, on the other hand, are often used for POP3, IMAP, or web-based email accounts like as opposed to OST files, which are used for Exchange accounts.
