There are like 38 important name reactions. Including Aldol,Reimmer Tiemmen,Beckman,Friedel Craft Acylation and alkylation,clemenson,suzuki,sonogashira,negishi,kumada,mitsunobu,benzil benzilic,reformatsky,benzoin condensation etc etc.

I am expaining only Riemmer Tiemmen

So in R.T Phenol is converted to O-Hyderoxy Benzaldehyde by using a strong base and Chloroform(ChCl3)

Base deprotonates chloroform to generate chloroformate anion which is then formed dichloro carbene intermediate after releasing one chloride ion.

The base also deprotonate phenol and the phenol attacks the carbene intermediate. After few rearrengment step follows and provide the final O-Hydroxy Benzaldehyde
