Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The level of the test was approachable. The verbal section contained of 2 -3 each of synonyms, antonyms, para-jumbles etc. It also had 2-3 reading comprehensions, easy to solve yet time-taking.
The analytical part contained of syllogisms etc. It has 2-3 flowcharts & bar-graphs to be answered too, yet the section was easy, I mean a person could easily attempt all 25 questions correctly.
The quantitative part contained of questions from probability, time & work, time speed & distance, algebra, sequences etc.
Tips: Keep an eye on the remaining time.
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 75

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interview went smooth the interviewer questioned me about the noticeable drift in my 10 and 12 marks. Being a student from EEE stream, he inquired me on my final year project. He checked me on my knowledge of C programming as well, and also about my strengths and weakness(with a justification).

The interview was an overall interactive session, he asked me a few thing, I inquired about the designation that we would serve on being recruited. I can say the interview went well….and so did happen with all of my other batch mates.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: First round details :The test contained of 75 questions, classified under the sections of verbal, logical and quantitative aptitude (25 questions each) within a time span of 90 min., making it 30 min per section(there’s no time division or the order in which you need to go through the sections). The level of the test was approachable. The verbal section contained of 2 -3 each of synonyms, antonyms, para-jumbles etc. It also had 2-3 reading comprehensions, easy to solve yet time-taking.The analytical part contained of syllogisms etc. It has 2-3 flowcharts & bar-graphs to be answered too, yet the section was easy, I mean a person could easily attempt all 25 questions correctly. The quantitative part contained of questions from probability, time & work, time speed & distance, algebra, sequences etc. The questions were easy but something that was striking was the time that ran short, so I suggest you should keep an eye on the upper right corner of the screen since the beginning of the test.
Books and websites used to clear first round
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 75

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: My Topic was ‘ Should Brain Drain be stopped in India??’

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Interview experiencesThere was one technical-hr combined interview session. The interview went smooth the interviewer questioned me about the noticeable drift in my 10 and 12 marks.

General Tips: I would suggest the aspirants to practice a fair deal of aptitude and necessarily the basics of coding (at least 1 language since you are applying for an IT company ) and to importantly push nervousness aside during gd and interview sessions.

Motivation: The main motivation for applying to iGATE was the company is a major IT service provider and had been listed in the 100 fastest growing companies by Fortune magazine. Since i had been rejected in companies like Wipro, CTS, Infosys, i applied to this company in the hope of getting selected. Other motivations were my college seniors and teachers.
Funny Moments: When the technical interviewer asked me to explain any topic from my area of interest, I was shocked for a minute because i could not believe that i had been granted so much liberty of choosing any topic from my subject. To crosscheck what i had hear was true or not, i reassured myself by asking him whether he was sure or not. Then the interviewer smiled and told me to proceed.
