Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: We were given only one paper which consists of 45 questions, out of which around 35 are general aptitude and the remaining 10 are verbal english .All the questions were jumbled, there is no negative marking.
Duration: 45 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: We had only one round of interview (i.e. both HR and technical in the same round) with all the 6 panel members asking questions. Related to technical i was asked 4 questions. 1.Do u use motors in your farming? (yes) why do you get low voltage and what is the precaution that u suggested your father? Actually this question was not asked by the electrical panel member. It was asked as one of the questions in hr.2. Do we need wires to transmit electricity (power) ? First i said yes then he told an example that mobile phones receive signals which are electrical..... and so he asked again do we need wires for transmission of electrical power? then i told that research is going on wireless power transmission and scientists succeeded transmitting power up to a range of 15 meters.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was completely about my family back ground and my future plans. It was more of a friendly discussion rather than a interview.

General Tips: If u wanna pursue IT jobs have basics of C,C++ and DS well. And have your department basics well whether you wanna pursue software or a core job. Electrical engineers have good core opportunities. ALL THE BEST P.S.:- for more suggestions contact me through this mail id *****.

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The questions were pretty simple and involved the basic skills of maths(average, permutation, venn diagram)....One could easily crack all the questions before time. To give a feel of type of question they asked , here is one of them-----"what is the average of 9000,10000,13000,11000?) So no need to worry abt the apti..
Duration: 45 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: What to say....people will normally say scary things about the interviews but this was an interview i won't forget for years. As soon as i entered they started talking very casually in hindi(would u believe...HINDI!!!). They asked about me,my family ,my ambitions,my hobbies, everything in hindi. Here is where u have to be careful. When they ask in hindi ...U HAVE TO RESPONSE IN HINDI. in between they threw some questions in english and u have to revert back in english..it was a very short interview for abt 10 minutes..one of the panel members asked his partner to ask me some technical questions but he refused. so it was all cool.

General Tips: NMDC is a pure core company for metallurgy. its a good company(navratna status) and the placement being in Hyderabad for first few months and then in some remote areas in Karnataka, Chattisgarh, UP(lalapur)...so people looking for a city life should strictly not apply for it. but the added advantages are awesome. a very good payscale with so many facilities and most of all the job security. so good luck to all of you !!
