5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Written   test   has   around   50   technical   questions   and   15   quantitative   and   verbal   English   questions.   Technical   part included questions  mainly from strength of materials  and design.  Quantitative and verbal part was  easy.  There was negative marking also and we had more than sufficient time for answering the questions.
Duration: 120 minutes
Total Questions: 65

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: GD   was   very   informal   and   was   conducted   after   the   interview.   It   was   just   like   a   casual   discussion   with   friends.   I could add my points to whatever I supported and made my opinion convincing.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Questions   which   I   had   done   wrong   in   the   written   test   were   discussed.   I   came   up   with   the   correct   answer   by analysing the question step by step and using the hints  given by the interviewer. I was then showed a ppt having a practical   problem   related   to   design   of   their   subsea   wellhead   system.   He   described   me   about   its   construction   and also   gave   me   some   hints.   He   didn't   expect   any   specific   correct   answer   from   me   but   basically   tested   my   way   of analysing and approach.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: HR   questions   were   asked   during   the   technical   interview   only      Tell   about   yourself   other   than   what   is   there   in   the resume,  your strengths,  weaknesses,  interests,  hobbies,  Why did  you choose FMC,  These days  while many of the Indians are worried about salaries, what is your opinion and preference.

Skill Tips: Study   the   basics   of  strength  of  materials   and   design  thoroughly.   Once  you  are   perfect  with  the  basics  you  will  be able to solve any type of question given. Be confident while answering rather than worrying about what if it is wrong because they only test your reasoning skills. Best of Luck.

Experience: The HR was pretty straight forward. The general questions were asked like introduction, future plans, details regarding any higher studies etc.

General Tips: The interview especially the technical part was very exciting. The panel member gave guidelines in a very beautiful way and the problem was also really interesting.
It is a very good company. This being the first time, the procedure of test was not the general way.Anyways, be good in your basics of the topics mentioned and you can crack it! All the best..

Experience: A 5 min interview about tell me abput urself.. y dont u take mangament.. will u be interested in working outside india

General Tips: The interview was one of its kind.the creative test and response to my doubts was over whelming. the technical aptitude paper was highly admirable and tested ur real technical skills. for i have seen papers which test only only theoretical technical and not logical.
For its reputation globally and and the growth opportunities to work in a new concern.. and if you have a passion for design .. then this comp should be your destination.. for many companies provide only production managers or sales posts

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The questions asked were very fundamental and application based. They're from strength of materials, advanced strength of materials and design subjects.
Total Questions: 60

Round: Interview
Experience: It is an interactive experience more than anything else.It started off with an informal hr and based on your answers: strengths and weaknesses and subjects of interest, questions will be asked.Firstly, they'll give another chance to work out some questions which the candidate has marked wrong in the written test.secondly, there'll be a ppt of questions for each student. This ppt is based on the previously stated interest of the candidate. They'll test the candidate's approach towards the problem and his method of thinking.

Round: Interview
Experience: It was very informal. They started off with the basic question:"Tell me about yourself",then they asked what we liked most in the job,and why we applied for it.

General Tips: It's a very wonderful experience. It's interactive rather than being a question-answer type like most interviews. On one hand it tested the analytical and problem solving approach and on the other hand,it made me learn alot more things.
Be perfect with the basics. If your fundas are good then however tough the questions may be you can always come up with the right solution.
