5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The questions were pretty easy. Only basic level questions were asked.
Duration: 55 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Initially the topic given was when you live in glass house you don't throw stones at each other. It was changed to the above topic in between. Make sure you do quite a bit of talking. GD is an elimination round.
Duration: 10 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I had a sort of HR round for Technical too. They asked little bit about the project and also if you knew C,C++. Also they asked me something in accountancy.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: A typical HR round. Questions like about yourself, what do you know about the company, etc were asked.Nothing out of the box was asked. A 5 minute process at max.

General Tips: Once you clear the Aptitude test, GD is the main elimination round. In my GD out of 12 only 4 were selected. So make sure you talk enough and that too sensibly. For computer science people they ask quite a lot of technical questions. Be clear on your basics.

5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test was a mixture of quantitative, reasoning/analytical and verbal. It lasted for 1 hr. The questions can be prepared by using Barron's GRE, Magical Book of mathematics, RS Aggarwal Reasoning books. The essay topic was "should Pakistani players be allowed to play in the IPL". The test here is of speed. Don't take too much of pressure and don't get stuck on a particular question. Nothing was too tough and a serious preparation will be good enough if done over 3 weeks.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There were two rounds of GD. GD is important for making a good impression. Remember that the impression made in this round will help later. The first topic was "people living in glass houses should not throw stones at others". I initiated the GD and many people after me repeated my points. There is always a benefit in starting first if the topic is as abstract as this because people unwittingly repeat your points which makes you and your points even stronger. The second topic was "how real are the reality shows today". I spoke third this time as I wanted to give others a chance. If you have started one GD then don't try to start the second one too. This firstly makes a bad impression of yours in front of all the other candidates and they may speak against your point which may hurt you.And second this creates an impression of a team player for you in front of the interviewers as they too are smart people and understand everything. And one very important thing please do not beat around the bush, do not argue and do not repeat other people's points. Also please try to say something related to the topic at least once.....do not stay mum.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Contrary to the general perception the technical was not that easy at all. They started by asking me what was my favorite subject which i said was C++. So they asked me about general OOPS definition and concepts, difference between C and C++. Then they asked me syntax of control structures like loops and switch. Next they asked me totell the logic to convert a string like "Ram is great" into "great is Ram". Also they asked me to write the code to swap two strings. Then they asked me some pretty tough puzzles. One of those I remember is how will you measure the height of a tall pole using only a scale and a stick and nothing else during daytime without climbing it.This can be easily done using the principle of similar triangles and measuring the shadow of the scale and that of the pole. It lasted for around one hour.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In the HR round they started by asking me to say something exciting which i had done in my life. They asked me about my family in detail. They asked me why accenture. It lasted for around 45 minutes.

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: No interruption on part of the moderator. I started off the discussion and gave my initial views. Then asked others to contribute. Mainly only 4 or 5 guys spoke exclusively well. Others were given a chance to express themselves but didn't make much of an impact. Also wrapped up the discussion. Finally about 5 guys from our group were shortlisted for the interviews.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Interview
Experience: Was asked about subjects studies in previous semester. When i mentioned "Operations Research" he asked about Queueing Theory. Did not answer. Asked me to write any syntax in C++. Wrote a simple cout statement. Then asked about flowcharting. What shape is starter box and option box. Told him that not learnt it exclusively-only a precursor for C++. Then asked about Foundry as interviewer was mechanical engineer. Asked about Fibonacci series. Was asked to write fibonacci series starting from 0. Did correctly.

Round: Interview
Experience: Asked where i am from. Where from in kerala? Pleasant interviewer. Then about what i want to do five years from now. Was a very brief discussion.

In the group discussion dont simply shout, just raise your hand politely or ask that I have something to say.
Skill Tips: All my answers in HR were very much positive saying that accenture growth is very good...and i would like to see myself in a respected higher position in the company. The whole selection procedure was going on a very fast pace and as it was the first company on campus placements, everyone was competing for it, and the company aslo was willing to take many people so we were very hopeful. I dint expect that I would be placed in the first few among the class.. They mainly saw the people who were talking confidently
