Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I guess they have shortlisted more or less 80-90% of the applications for the written test

Round: Test
Experience: They will ask you to solve 30 numerical questions in 5 minutes. Its all about getting to know your zeal for numbers
Tips: There are several quick math tests available online and having some practice doing them will help
Duration: 5 minutes
Total Questions: 30

Round: Test
Experience: This test has 30 questions and you are given 30 minutes.the difficulty of the questions would be more or less similar to CAT.
Tips: If you are already preparing for CAT,it will help you big time
Duration: 30 minutes
Total Questions: 30

Round: Stress Interview
Experience: The interviewer tried to create stress from the minute I entered his room. After formal introduction about myself ,he asked me few questions about the courses I did in finance. He started to argue that I am wrong with one of my answers in Accounting, but I was quite sure that I am right. He asked me to prove that I am right.I requested him to allow me to go back to my room and get that accounting book.He allowed me to leave and said that I need not come back if I am wrong.I had a few tense seconds and then I decided to leave as I was quite sure about my answer.I got that book from my room and ca,e back to prove that I am right. He was impressed with my confidence and risk taking ability. He went on to ask me about global economic situations, the crisis of 2008 and some other general questions.
Tips: I don't think there will be such an emphasis about finance in the interview.I had few courses and I initiated the conversations as I had prepared to talk about them.It will be a stress interview and they might test you with puzzles and numbers in the middle of the interview.Be calm, confident and honest.

Round: Stress Interview
Experience: The second interview started and there was an awkward silence for the next 5 minutes(The longest 5 minutes I ever had till then). The interviewer was looking at his phone, ordered for a coffee and then had a look at my resume. Then, he remained silent for the next couple of minutes again after which he finally started conversing with me.He told me a 10 digit number

General Tips: Be yourself. If you have what it takes to work there, they will not miss you
Skills: Emotional Quotient, Ability To Make Quick Calculations, RISK TAKING ABILITY, Ability To Convince, Ability To Cope Up With Stress

Interview Questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Section 1: 30 questions  – Quant Section 2: 20 questions- Speed Math
Tips: Don’t stick on to one single question which you are unable to solve. You need to complete it as quick as possible.

I prepared for Quant for about 10 days before the placements. But I think it would be better if one starts preparing much much earlier.
Duration: 30 minutes

Round: Other Interview
Experience: For me there were 3 rounds. All the 3 rounds went on the same note for me. They were constantly asking random questions. All you need to do is keep smiling and answer them properly.  You can just say to all the questions he asks as “No idea sir”. There is nothing like you should be answering all his questions correctly.

In my 2nd round, he went through my resume. So you need to be very clear about what you wrote in the resume. You should not fake it as they will shoot many quick questions the moment you start to cup.
Tips: I answered most of the questions with a pleasant smile. One should not worry about their facial expressions and panic.

Tips: I have got a lot of interview fundaes from seniors and also saw many videos regarding it.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Tips: No need of any preparation. Just speed math
Duration: 50 minutes

Round: Interview
Experience: Yes. First one was a stress interview. They wanted to see how I reacted when put under stress. Second was about finance, trading, the job and the like. The interviewer explained what the job entails, I was sure I got the job
Tips: Try taking part in Trade Moghul if you are really interested in trading. A lot of banks don't offer trading positions, so if you are interested in trading profile, it's a good place.

General Tips: In fact there are different skill sets each company expects. So try to emphasize the right skill set in your resume. Get this done by at least Septembert end.

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: I did well in speed matth part but i felt I could have done better in analytical aptitude. They have questions like od man out in picture format which i didn't expect.
Tips: Practice speed math 1 day before. You can get some tests online (just google). There are cutoffs for each section, so dont neglect any section.
Ideal time - Speed math 5-7 min
aptitude 20-25 min
Duration: 30 minutes
Total Questions: 50

Round: Trade moghul usly(online simulation of trading)
Experience: We were asked to take part in trade moghul, Company's trading competition for one week on a crude oil. I have started playing it as it is part of selection process but later i have enjoyed it and took part for almost 6-7 hrs a day.
Tips: Just enjoy making profit or loss. The values will be real time but money is not. So play for fun. They take it seriously. They dont mind if you make profit or loss. They jus want to check your patience.

Round: Interview
Experience: I have had 4 rounds of interview. First one is rapid round. In this they will ask you questions very fast that you cannot settle and make up your mind and then answer. They ask even normal stuff like capitals of countries, Presidents of countries and some speed math which you have to answer instantly
2-4 rounds: These 3 rounds are stress rounds where they say you are useless and will not have a career if you join this company and they say you are not good at this and that and try to put you in pressure. In pressure they test how your mind works and how smart you think. For example they ask you to see around in room then change topic and ask you to close eyes and ask how many switches are there in room. They give you some situation and will test you how you behave in those conditions. We all know that no interviewer ,how bad the interview is ,will not say you are not good and will not say you will be a failure. So for all the words they say I was just saying to myself that they are just trying to make me feel the pressure and I have also started to enjoy with them. I would definitely say that this was my most enjoyed interview.
Tips: Just be yourself. Dont act and keep saying to yourself that they are just saying bad things to make you feel the pressure. Play trade moghul as it reflects your intrest in trading

General Tips: Be cool. They are not here to test your english ability. They need people with good math skill and who works under pressure

Tips: I have got a lot of interview fundaes from seniors and also saw many videos regarding it.

General Tips: Core or Non-core you need to have basic fundaes regarding the other. You never know where you gonna end up.
I started my core preparation, one n half month before the placement season.Starting the preparation earlier could've brought NO change in my case but it would surely be helpful.

There was no preparation for non-core in particular. I went through thebasics of trading (required for FUTURES FIRST) just 2 days before the interview.

I went through the GATE book for my core preparation. I prepared basic subjects in every area i.e.; design, manufacturing and thermal. I studied chapters like TD, SOM from GATE book, and referred kalpakjian for
manufacturing.

Even if you are aspiring for one among the core or the non-core job, you need to have basic fundaes regarding the other. You never know, where you gonna end up.
Skill Tips: There was a constant smile on my face all through my interview period. I did not loose my confidence levels, even though I had made few mistakes in my interview. All that you have to show them is that you were able to handle pressure and react properly, even in stressful conditions. My scores in both the tests were just decent. I feel, I made it through, just because of my performance in both the interviews.
