  • Q2. Case studies
  • Q3. Guesstimation questions
  • Q4. You have 15 mins to convince me why should I take you in OYO Rooms, list down 5 quailties which make you suitable for this job?

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I got shortlisted through resume because I think I had done so many things other than just studies after coming to IIT.
Tips: Make a one page resume always, I know people who did not get shortlisted because they had submitted two page resume and try to show your management and leadership skills because these people look for that.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: It was a 25 min interview and was quite normal. Started with run me through your resume then went on towards a guesstimate about oyo rooms potential market place. Then he asked me about what are challenges faced in particular field of working which he explained first and finally some questions related to PORs.
Tips: Be confident, try to reach to a number for guestimation question because they care for final number but rush to it. Take your time and don't make calculation mistakes.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was a very challenging experience for me. I started by explaining every peak point my resume like course background, management skills, leadership skills. Told him my experiences in insti where i had to struggle in managing teams and how i came up with a solution for that. Then i had some start up experience and the challenges I had to face in that.
Tips: Do not repeat points.
Don't rush in answering, think and then speak.
Keep him engaged and interested in your talk.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I applied for a couple of companies before this and learnt from experience on how to write a resume highlighting your strengths.

According to me, I feel writing a resume is like a sales pitch. You have to describe everything about you in a way that you catch the panel's attention all in one sheet of paper.

My advice for everyone would be start making resumes as early as possible and ask seniors for feedback and keep upgrading your resume. You will get to know how to write an attractive resume for a particular profile through experience itself.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: My experience was extremely pleasant. HR was very friendly, even asked me to drink tea and coffee :)
To be truthful, I was pretty nervous but it's not as scary as everyone think it is. HR's are generally friendly and will make you feel as comfortable as they can.

Coming to the questions, I wasn't asked any technical questions and was mainly asked general questions. They just test your proficiency in speaking English and the confidence in your answers.
Tips: My tips would be to be cool, be yourself, don't lie and boast(they will get to know of it)
Be sure to know some history about the company and why you want to join it
Be confident in your answers and you have to demonstrate a surity in your answers. i.e you have to have a explanation for every answer you give.

Lastly be confident in your outlook as a whole

Skill Tips: English proficiency is a must. Be fluent and confident in your English speaking.
Skills: 1)communication, Basic Knowledge, Ability To Convince, Able To Speak With Perception

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I had made a list of points I would mention showing my strengths. I was thorough with my resume and answered any questions they asked. I gave a strong and confident narration for this question. They mentioned points that interested them, what they were curious to know.
Tips: You must plan how to answer before the interview. Very must. Otherwise shows your lack of interest in the company. It gives a bad impression. Also what they want is you should be thorough with your resume. Also be confident and stay relaxed. You can take few moments to think before answering. Do

General Tips: Write all things possible that are relevant, in your resume. You don't know what they will like in your resume and it could fetch you the intern

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Tips: A lot of redundant points (those which go without saying or are unnecessary, like extra shifts to match targets) are needlessly thrown about. It is easy to go on with the flow, but a unique (keep it simple, though) perspective is almost certainly rewarded. Since everyone is hankering after the chance to speak, make sure that you make the most out of the few you get. If you feel that the conclusion is not solid enough (happens when group members try to play safe and appear to be in agreement), grab the opportunity to add a few of your own, which need not necessarily contradict the main conclusion.
