Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: My resume got shortlisted through walk-ins
Tips: Make sure your resume describes more of your problem solving skills and teamwork skills

Round: HR Interview
Experience: My interview was a one-to-one interaction for 20 minutes. I was just asked three questions in this round. meanwhile I was very curious to know about Enfrien. I kept asking them about their market size, market share,Do you buy/ produce solar panels? Or do you just provide the technology and get it manufactured by a vendor? What was your mode of entry into market? What is your team size? Don't you think it's an advantage/disadvantage to have a small team?
Tips: Never just allow the interview to question you. Instead be curious to know about the company. Recruiters will love it if you want to know more and more about them

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: It was actually a 3 round interview. But as I got in through walk-ins, it was a 2 round interview for me. This was again not an interview for me but a casual discussion about the company profile. I was asked to show my business analysis skills. P.S. I did SWOT analysis for the company before my interview.
Tips: Here again the interview should always be made interactive not just allowing the interviewer to bombard you with questions. Have a casual discussion showing how interested you are about the company. Do a lot of ground work done before facing the panel and you are sure to be recruited

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: All students with CGPA greater than 8.5 were shortlisted.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interview panel was a 3 member team. All were cool and friendly. I showed the desire to learn in the answers that I gave. They asked the overview of various subjects that I studied in my M.Tech (Manufacturing and Precision Engineering). I told the answers nicely. Then they went on to FEA and modelling and simulation which were the electives that I took. I was not able to answer many questions correctly and clearly. But few answers I ansered well. Then they went on to my project. I answered almost all questions related to it clearly and correctly. Then they asked me to model a milling process. I tried to do it, but I failed. But the interviewer went on to the next question. He asked me to model an upsetting process. I took lot of time to think and I modelled the problem successfully. He assisted me when I started to answer it well. They asked me to explain how the process will happen, how the process parameters can be found out, how they can be related and so on. I answered all well.
After that they began asking questions to know whether I would be a good fit for the job. I answered all questions well quoting examples from my life.
The interview lasted more than 1 hour.
Tips: Be confident about what ever you are saying. Be thorough regarding the subjects that you have preferred. Be cool and try to answer what the interviewer is expecting you to say.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Only one person was there in the panel. It's just a casual talk. Lasted just 15 minutes. I asked about the job profile and how my career would progress over time.
Tips: Do a background check on the company and the profile they are offering.

Interview Questions

  • Q1. Tell us a bit about yourself
  • Q2. What is your current project?
  • Q3. Deep technical questions on project
  • Q4. The domain we're hiring for is not exactly what you're mastering in. Would you be able to adapt and be willing to do work that you aren't much familiar with?

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test was a very lengthy test with 5 sections for 2 hours. The amount of content that had to be read in the question paper is exceptionally high. There were huge paragraphs to be read and answered. There was an intriguing section, in which a set of tasks mentioned, each of them of unique nature and taking different time for completion and we had to number the tasks in our order of priority, which would ensure the tasks being completed as per time. That particular section was tedious and time taking as we had to read the tasks again and again to fully understand and compare them with each other. Overall, the exam, I'd describe it as more tedious and tiresome than analytically difficult.
Tips: One has to maintain the same high level of analytical ability throught the test despite mental fatigue to complete the test in stipulated time. Practicing in that direction would certainly help.
Duration: 2 hours
Total Questions: 120

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: I answered most of questions asked on my project and other technical questions as well. For the question on non familiarity of work, I answered that I would consider it as a challenge and I'd be excited about such inter domain work as it would be a great opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge.
Tips: A good opening statement makes most difference in interview. Being prepared for most of standard questions will prevent anxeity during the first few minutes of interview. When asked about yourself, starting by thanking them for the opportunity will certainly help. Whatever you're saying about yourself in the interview, keep an example demonstrating that quality in hand. And don't lie in the interview, we may think that we can manage by lying, but HR can easily see through it. Confidence and believing in yourself is key to crack any interview. Wear a smile in all appropriate moments during interview.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Those with CGPA of greater than 8.0 from CS and Elec were allowed to write the test.

Round: Test
Experience: Find the index at which a monotonically increasing sequence attains a given value. Naive implementation of binary search worked.
Tips: 1. Make sure all test cases pass. Else you wont be considered for next round.
2. Make sure you use the right data types. The numbers given were in the range of 2^63 and unless you use long long - the test cases will not pass.
3. The coding test allows only C, C++ or Java.
Duration: 3 hours
Total Questions: 1

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: They'll also ask you about your projects and internships. I had done projects in ML. So, they asked related questions regarding PCA, Linear Algebra and Spectral Decomposition. Basically, explain your project thoroughly and be able to answer questions related to projects well.
Tips: I had two technical and one HR round. Answer HR questions convincingly or you wont get selected. They'll ask you why you prefer Samsung over other companies (don't mention if you have interviews with Goldman, if you do give convincing reasons as to why you wont join Goldman over Samsung). They'll ask you about plans for higher studies. They basically want to give offers to people who are likely to accept the offer. Convince them of this and you are done.
