No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Since I am an experiential candidate who likes to impart the knowledge among the young minds. Therefore, I am always keen to look for growth and opportunities. Unfortunately, the institution is little reluctant in rendering the platform to the enthusiastic candidates. I found the policies quite impulsive which do not allow the candidate to work as a conscientious worker. I suggest them to improvise their strategies in order to have the sustainable culture in the institution.

Dislikes

Immense clerical work which do not render any purpose and also lead to a lethal life. Example: Bus duties for teachers which is a humongous task as it only exacerbate the health of any individual. Also it compels the safety of a lady.
