They way that people are hand picked for jobs and progression. It's never been about ability, its who you are, and it's been endemic in the years I have worked there.

A guy who refers to himself as 'Maintenance Engineer' but really was a pallet maker in his previous job, has absolutely no clue of maintenance, No idea of process, absolutely zero man management skills, anger management issues and has seen off 4 maintenance supervisors because they 'seen through him' and Versalis put up with this joker. Work here by all means but avoid this fraudster at all costs......more faces than the town clock and an Armoury of knives heading for your back!!
