There are two categories working in Thapar. 1. Regular 2. Contractual Generally regulars are the teaching faculty and have access to all the benefits, including job security. It also included the old fellas working in TIET (generally don't work) enjoying their union and all benefits etc. On the other hand, Contractual (that's Me) are considered to be low graders at the workplace. You may be threatened that they can throw you out. Maximum work is done by contractual workers, so that probability is entirely onto your boss. Amazing work-life balance.

Dislikes

No growth plan for people joining as support functions except for teaching. So enter carefully.

STAFF OF THAPAR, SPORTS FACILITIES ARE EXCELLENT. DY.DIRECTOR SPORTS S. LAKHBIR SINGH SANDHU ,HE HIMSELF IS A SPORTS PERSON, HANDLING SPORTS DEPARTMENT IS WELL QUALIFIED IS RUNNING THIS SPORTS DEPARTMENT WITH A TEAM OF WELL QUALIFIED EVEN SOME OF HIS COACHES ARE OF INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.GOOD RESULTS IN SPORTS IN ALL INDIA, INTER TECHNOLOGY CHAMPIONSHIPS. EXCELLENT RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES .ALL THE HOSTELS ARE EQUIPPED WITH MODERN GYMS. WELL QUALIFIED DOCTORS IN HEALTH DEPARTMENT. OVERALL THAPAR UNIVERSITY IS THE BEST UNIVERSITY IN INDIA.

Thapar University is a very good place for a work in educational area for ones overall Development. They are supporting the staff in a excellent way while planning the whole schedule in a very good manner. They are supporting the staff in a Financial as well as giving relaxed environment for working throughout Covid time.

It's a good institute.Teaching and learning is good and emphasis is given on research.It requires more permanent teacher at higher level. Contractual appointments should be discarded at least for good teaching.

Dislikes

Management should be rejigged. A few persons usually userp power and benefits.Good and efficient directors with good teaching experience should be inducted. One should give more emphasis on the performance of the candidate at undergraduate and graduate levels.While I worked there i was not happy with the management.
