No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Joining as a fresher, experienced in this institute is of no use, pay will around 5k and whole lot of politics from top level management, they threated people by providing phone recording as if nothing was wrong in their side and more over these people don't put you on rolls and even after reliving the experience certificate will not be given please don't get cheated by joining these types of colleges which does not follow govt norms. An experienced candidate can be getting only around 10k, when an education institute is not giving importance to education itself how can we expect dignity for our qualification.
